The agreement between you and VioniX for using Grove. Please read it — it covers what you can post, what you keep, and what happens when something goes wrong.
Last updated: 12 August 2026
These Terms and Conditions ("Terms") are a binding agreement between you and VioniX ("VioniX", "we", "us", "our") governing your access to and use of Grove — the website at https://grove.vionixonline.in, together with every page, feature and service offered on it (the "Service").
By creating an account, signing in, or otherwise using the Service, you confirm that you have read these Terms, that you accept them, and that you agree to be bound by them. If you do not accept them, do not use the Service.
If you are using the Service on behalf of an organisation, a team or another person, you confirm that you have the authority to bind them to these Terms, and "you" refers to both you and them.
These Terms incorporate our Community Guidelines and our Privacy Policy by reference. Where the Guidelines describe conduct in practical terms and these Terms describe it in legal ones, both apply.
Grove is a discovery platform for student-built projects, built and operated by VioniX, a student-led product studio. VioniX designs, builds and runs its own products; Grove is one of them.
You can reach us about anything in these Terms at . Notices we are required to give you may be sent to the email address on your account or posted on the Service.
The Service lets you publish projects, describe what you built, credit contributors, form teams, and receive and send collaboration requests. Projects and their pages are public and readable without an account. Posting, liking, bookmarking, following, commenting, joining a team and browsing builder profiles require you to be signed in.
We are building this in the open and the Service changes. We may add, alter, restrict or withdraw features at any time. Where a change materially reduces what the Service does, we will make a reasonable effort to tell you before it takes effect.
We do not promise uninterrupted availability. The Service may be unavailable for maintenance, for reasons outside our control, or because something broke.
"Your Content" means everything you submit to the Service: project entries, titles, taglines, descriptions, images, screenshots, videos, links, comments, replies, team and profile information, and anything else you post.
You keep full ownership of Your Content. Nothing in these Terms transfers your intellectual property to us, and posting a project on the Service does not give us any claim over the underlying work, code, designs or research.
You grant VioniX a worldwide, non-exclusive, royalty-free, transferable and sub-licensable licence to host, store, reproduce, adapt for display, publish, publicly perform and distribute Your Content, for the sole purpose of operating, promoting and improving the Service. "Adapt for display" means the technical things a platform must do — generating thumbnails, resizing images, producing previews and social cards. It is not a licence to create derivative works of your project.
This licence lasts for as long as Your Content is on the Service, and ends when you delete it — except that copies may persist in backups for a limited period, and content others have already shared or that we must retain for legal reasons may remain.
You may be featured on the Service or in material promoting it, using your project title, cover image, tagline and the name or handle attached to it. If you would rather not be, tell us and we will stop.
Important
Grove is a co-learning and discovery space — a place for students to show each other what they built, not a submissions system, an idea registry, or a vault. Posting a project here, including any repository or source-code link you attach to it, makes it as visible as the rest of the project: anyone who can see the project can see that it exists and follow that link.
We do not review, monitor or restrict what happens to code or ideas once you have shared them this way, and we take no responsibility for someone else viewing, forking, copying, referencing or building on a project idea or source code you posted or linked — whether or not that use would itself be lawful. Section 14 (Disclaimers) and section 15 (Limitation of liability) apply in full to this.
Sharing a link to your repository on the Service is not a legal protection of any kind, and it is not evidence of authorship on its own — GitHub's own commit history and your repository's licence are what actually establish that.
Protecting your own work is on you, before you post it here, not after: add an explicit licence to your repository (GitHub's licence picker is the easiest way), or keep it private, or share only a subset of it, based on how much control you want to keep. A repository with no licence file is not "safe by default" — depending on where it is hosted, it can mean nobody has your permission to use the code at all, or, in some hosts' defaults, that it is more open than you intended. Choose deliberately.
The Service exists so student work gets found. The following are not permitted, and we may act on any of them without prior notice.
A team is a shared identity for work that belongs to more than one person. A project posted under a team is attributed to the team, and the member who posted it remains its owner and is named alongside it. Adding someone to a team, or crediting them on a project, is a statement that they were involved — do not credit people who were not.
Team membership is managed by invitation. Accepting an invitation is voluntary and members may leave. Removing a member does not remove the projects they contributed to or their credit on them.
Collaboration requests are private between the sender and the recipient. Nobody is obliged to accept one, declining is normal and needs no explanation, and repeatedly contacting someone who has declined is harassment under section 7.
The Service itself — its software, design, layout, text we wrote, and the Grove and VioniX names and logos — belongs to VioniX or its licensors and is protected by intellectual property law.
These Terms grant you a limited, personal, non-exclusive, non-transferable and revocable licence to use the Service as it is intended to be used. No other rights are granted, expressly or by implication.
You may not use our names or logos in a way that suggests endorsement, sponsorship or affiliation without our written permission.
The Service displays content submitted by other users, and links to repositories, demos, videos and writeups hosted elsewhere. We do not create, endorse or verify any of it, and following a link takes you to a site governed by someone else's terms and privacy policy.
We rely on third-party providers to run the Service, including Google for authentication and Supabase for data storage and file hosting. Your use of the Service is also subject to their terms where they apply to you.
We are not responsible for third-party content or services, and any dealings you have with another user — including collaborating on a project — are between you and them.
If content on the Service infringes your rights, breaches these Terms, or discloses your personal information, write to .
So that we can act quickly, tell us: the URL of the content, what is wrong with it, your relationship to the material or to the rights being infringed, and how to contact you. For an intellectual property claim, include enough detail to identify both the infringing content and the work it infringes, and confirm that you have a good-faith belief the use is not authorised and that your statement is accurate.
We review every report. We may remove content, restrict an account, or decline to act, and we will tell the person who submitted the report what we decided. We may pass your report on to the person who posted the content.
We may review, moderate, restrict, hide or remove any content, and suspend or terminate any account, where we reasonably believe these Terms or the Community Guidelines have been breached, where we are required to by law, or where doing so is necessary to protect users or the Service.
We aim to act proportionately: a first, minor breach is more likely to bring a warning or a removal than a suspension. Repeated or serious breaches — harassment, deception, scraping, or anything that puts other students at risk — may result in immediate and permanent termination.
We are not obliged to monitor content, and the fact that something remains on the Service is not our endorsement of it.
You may stop using the Service at any time, and you may delete individual projects, comments, teams or your whole account from your settings. Where a project has simply stopped being maintained, archiving it is usually more useful to other students than deleting it.
Deleting your account removes your profile and your content from the Service. Some material may survive: comments already replied to, projects a team continues to maintain, aggregate statistics that no longer identify you, backups that expire on their own schedule, and anything we are required to retain by law. Section 7 of the Privacy Policy explains retention in more detail.
We may suspend or terminate your access under section 12. Where we do so and the reason is not serious misconduct, we will give you notice and an opportunity to respond.
Sections that by their nature should survive termination do so — including your licence grant for content that remains on the Service, our intellectual property rights, disclaimers, limitation of liability, indemnity and governing law.
The Service is provided "as is" and "as available", without warranties of any kind, whether express, implied or statutory, to the fullest extent the law permits. We do not warrant that the Service will be uninterrupted, timely, secure or error-free, that defects will be corrected, or that it will meet your requirements.
We do not verify the accuracy of user content. Claims a project makes about what it does, who built it, or how well it works are the poster's, not ours. Evaluate anything you rely on for yourself.
We are not responsible for the outcome of collaborations, teams, introductions or opportunities arising through the Service.
Nothing in this section limits any warranty that cannot lawfully be excluded.
To the fullest extent permitted by law, VioniX and the people who build it will not be liable for any indirect, incidental, special, consequential, exemplary or punitive damages, or for loss of profits, revenue, data, goodwill, opportunities or anticipated savings, arising out of or relating to your use of the Service — whether the claim is in contract, tort, negligence or otherwise, and even if we were told such damages were possible.
To the fullest extent permitted by law, our total aggregate liability for all claims relating to the Service is limited to the greater of the amount you paid us to use the Service in the twelve months before the claim arose (which, since the Service is free, is likely to be nothing) or ₹1,000.
Nothing in these Terms excludes or limits liability for death or personal injury caused by negligence, for fraud or fraudulent misrepresentation, or for anything else that cannot lawfully be excluded or limited. Where your local law gives you rights that cannot be waived, those rights are unaffected.
You agree to indemnify and hold harmless VioniX and the people who build and operate the Service against any claim, demand, loss, liability, damage, cost or expense (including reasonable legal fees) arising out of Your Content, your use of the Service, your breach of these Terms or the Community Guidelines, or your violation of any law or of anyone else's rights.
We may take over the defence of any matter subject to this indemnity, at your expense, and you agree to cooperate with us if we do.
These Terms are governed by the laws of India, without regard to conflict-of-law rules. The courts of India have exclusive jurisdiction over any dispute arising out of or relating to these Terms or the Service, and you consent to that jurisdiction.
If you live somewhere whose consumer protection law entitles you to bring proceedings locally or to the protection of mandatory local rules, this section does not take that away.
Before starting formal proceedings, please write to us at . Nearly everything is faster to resolve by email, and we would rather fix a problem than argue about it.
We may update these Terms as the Service develops or as the law requires. The current version is always on this page, with the date at the top reflecting when it last changed.
For material changes we will give reasonable notice — through the Service, by email, or both — before they take effect. Continuing to use the Service after a change takes effect means you accept the revised Terms. If you do not accept them, stop using the Service and delete your account.
